Deprived

Normally I'm woken up at about 5-5:30 am by either B's alarm or a very obnoxious Lily yowling at the door. This morning, it was neither - instead, a bizarre dream about Castle, Beckett, and I trying to escape from a murderous cult that was holding us hostage. A murderous cult of teenage girls, no less. Beckett and I escaped first by locking ourselves in a public bathroom, but when Castle tried to sneak away to meet us, somebody threw a grenade into the hallway and we had to escape through the vent onto the roof.

And now that I would like to go back to sleep for another hour, Lily is raising a holy ruckus as usual. *sigh* It's always something.

But, on the unrelated bright side, I start working at the bookstore next Thursday, and B has another interview today for a job that is a much better fit for him. So prayers, wishes, & FGBVs for him would be much appreciated.

I have no words.

Some folks were witness to this spectacle today.  If you missed it... OMG I DIED.  It took me forever to come up with any sort of comeback, and it was pretty lame too.  But I could NOT wipe the stupid grin off my face all day.

B, of course, gave me a high-five and told me to say that if Stana Katic (aka Beckett) was invited, to count him in too.

I failed to mention how the dream ended though... with me chickening out because I hadn't shaved my legs.  Man, I HATE when reality creeps in and ruins a perfectly good dream.

A Random Random Tuesday

I haven't been doing Random Tuesday Thoughts in a while, mainly because it wound up being the only thing I would post, and I thought that was pretty lame of me.  So instead, I just don't post.

Last night I dreamt that I was in Target, trying to decide if I wanted to steal a Superman action figure for a craft project.  But none of the action figures were the original Superman in tights with a red cape - they were all "futuristic" with chrome jock straps and night vision goggles, so I decided not to swipe one after all.  As I was leaving the store a little cream toy poodle walked in the door by himself, so I cornered him and was trying to find a tag with his owner's info on it, except he had so many tags on his collar I couldn't figure out which one was current.  I somehow looked up his ID number online and got a list of even more owners, and it just made me sad to think that this poor dog (who I distinctly remember had cataracts and a gray muzzle, so obviously a senior dog) had been through over a dozen homes in his life, and had been named some really stupid names like Coors Light.  I mean, what kind of jackass names a poodle Coors Light?

There's a 14-day backorder on our new iPhones from AT&T (yet apparently the Apple Store has them in stock - grrr) so I've been putting together my wish-list of apps in iTunes.  Seriously, Cowboys Vs Zombies?  I'm on that like white on rice, baby.  If anybody can recommend some good ones, I'd love to hear about them.  I have the basics - my bank, The Weather Channel, Mapquest, Movies, Tweetdeck - and I want a good grocery shopping app, one that scans barcodes and maintains lists.  I'm going to test Grocery Gadget Lite, and maybe Shopper too.

(Just checked the status of our orders, SHIPPING TODAY!!  WHOOT!!)

I've been loading up my Etsy shop with jewelry, some lovely things I might add.  I even had little business cards made with my shop logo (thank you Vistaprint for freebies!).  I'm going to have to slow down for a bit though, until we get settled into wherever we're going.

Can anybody recommend a good moving company for a cross-country move?  I'm getting quotes from United Van Lines, Mayflower, and Budget Van Lines - and of course there's U-haul as a last resort.  Is there any place else I should be looking into?

Frickin' hamsters, ya'll.

Dream Log

I've been meaning to start keeping a dream log ever since I started having some really whacked-out dreams a few weeks ago.  I managed to remember today's long enough to grab my laptop and write it down before it slipped away back to whatever bizarre place it came from - but I'm going to dig up a journal to keep beside the bed!

Last night I dreamt that I was back in Spokane for a conference or something, and I was staying downtown only the neighborhood looked more like Washington DC, with row houses and little cafe's tucked in, and I was rollerblading down the street and looked in a cafe window and saw Sky Becker sitting there (guy from college) and I went in to say hello, and he looked at me like I was an angel come down from heaven and told me he'd been looking and looking for me, and that he was sorry he was such an ass when we knew each other and could we try to be friends again.  (Which, yes??  Hello, dude was HOT even if he was an ass.  It's my thing for blue-eyes-dark-hair coming into play again.)

Then, same dream, I had to go out to Riverside for something work-related and meet someone in the middle school, except the building was closed for renovations and I couldn't find anybody, and then I realized that the classrooms had all been shoved inside a stack of coolers. (What happened to the laws of physics?!  We're suddenly in an episode of Dr. Who...)  Then I walked down to the high school and Mr. Martin (head football coach) was there working on the school budget (it was summer break) and I was all, why are YOU stuck doing the budget?  And there was another teacher there too that I didn't recognize and she said they all had to do their share of the work but that they made the best of it, and she handed me a bottle of Grey Goose and another of Boone's Farm.
